At Abraham Healthcare, Inc. we are constantly looking for skilled, compassionate, caring and dependable caregivers who are interested in making a difference in the  provision of in-home care to our consumers. Consideration will be given to individuals who have any of the following licenses or certifications:

  1. Registered Nurse                                    - RN
  2. Licensed Practical Nurse                          - LPN
  3. Certified Nursing Assistant                      - CNA
  4. Geriatric Nursing Assistant                      - GNA
  5. Certified Medication Assistant/Technician - CMA/CMT

You must also be able to pass a criminal background check with CJIS. We provide training programs and offer full and/or part time positions with flexible schedules in the office or in a field position. If you believe you would make an exceptional caregiver we would love to hear from you!

We currently have the following positions open:

Caregivers

To qualify as a Caregiver, an individual:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old;
  2. Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow directions in English;
  3. Must have experience in caring for the population to be served.
  4. May not be cited on the Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistants Registry or any other registries with a determination of abuse, misappropriation of resident property, or neglect.
  5. Must be currently certified by an organization by the Maryland Board of Nursing in the following areas:   Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and  Basic First aid.
  6. Must submit to a criminal background investigation for which the agency or applicant shall:
    • Submit an application for a criminal history record check to the Criminal Justice Information System Office, Department of Safety and Correctional Services,
    • Direct the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to send the criminal history report to the department, and
    • Pay for the criminal history record check and report;
    • May not have been convicted of, received a probation before judgment for, or entered into a plea of nolo contend ere to a felony or any crime involving moral turpitude or theft, or have any other criminal history that indicates behavior which is potentially harmful to patients.
  7. Must satisfy the following health requirements:
    • Annual TB testing  - submit a recent copy of TB results.
    • Offering of the Hepatitis B vaccine (signed letter of acceptance/declination must be kept on file).
    • Have Annual Physicals done within the first 3 months of employment.
    • Free from communicable diseases.
    • Be well groomed and presentable
    • Have excellent oral hygiene at all times.

Nurse Monitor

To qualify as a  Nurse Monitor, an individual: 

  1. Must be a Registered Nurse and have satisfied all the requirements of the Maryland Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act regarding nursing services and delegation of nursing functions.
  2. Must successfully pass a criminal background check
  3. Must have satisfied the Cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR] and Basic First Aid requirements
  4. Must have excellent organizational, managerial and communication skills.
  5. Must have demonstrated experience in providing nursing services to older adults, young adults and/or children with physical or mental disabilities.
  6. Must have specialized training and experience in caring for the population to be served.
  7. Shall be able to provide the required nursing supervision services
  8. Shall be available to give instructions and answer questions during a normal working day on medically related issues within the scope of the nurse’s license.
  9. Must be able to maintain detailed, written documentation of services rendered.
  10.  Be well groomed and presentable.
  11. Must satisfy the following health requirements:
    • Annual TB testing  - submit a recent copy of TB results.
    • Offering of the Hepatitis B vaccine (signed letter of acceptance/declination must be kept on file).
    • Have Annual Physicals done within the first 3 months of employment.
